I have it. My cousin-in-law is a radio consultant in L.A. and he sent me a promotional copy. I didn't ask, it just came in the mail with a note that said - Wait 'til you hear this! I've got to tell you, it stinks. There were a couple of times that my husband and I just turned to each other and shook our heads. By the way, he is not adding it to any of the stations he consults for, when you hear it, you'll see why. The original was daring and new. This version is just a poor imitation. I guess this should prove who really had the writing talent in Styx considering that they chose a cover instead of an original. But we already knew that, didn't we! Pam

[ EXACTLY!!!! I was talking at lunch with a very good friend from work, saying how I hope I get to make a trip up north soon to see another show. She was like "Why do you keep going to these shows if they're basically the same?" She just doesn't understand! But I know that most of y'all here do! Great to know I'm not the only "freaky" one around! Terri <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Terri, When Dennis is in St. Louis in April of next year it will be the sixth show in 2 years for Rick and me, so I know what you mean! I was just thrilled that I finally got to meet Dennis at the last show he did in St. Louis. We've traveled to Chicago, Dayton and beyond to see him. I can't wait to hit the road again in April. Pam

The Greatest Rock Lyric Of Them All? It's got to be Desert Moon. Who doesn't love that classic line - The waiter poured our memories into tiny cups, or another favorite of mine - I can still hear the whisper of the Summer night, It echos in the corners of my heart. Now that is just great writing. Emotion and imagery, Dennis's two strong points. Of course you may have a different song in mind. We all have our favorites! Pam

Ron, I want to thank you and everyone else who is working so hard keeping this site going. I know it takes a lot of time and effort and I really appreciate it. There are just times when you need to connect with another Dennis fan who understands why you go nuts sometimes when you hear him on the radio. Some of my friends say things like: but you've got a million of his CD's what's the big deal that his song was used in a commercial or a movie. They just don't get it and I know that the folks here DO get it. So thanks to one and all. Pam

WOW! Thank you, Ron. Since I just saw the show I can't wait to hear those songs too. Jimmy Kimmel kept saying that it was THE night to be in the audience and he held up the CD many, many times. Dennis performed CSA on the show and was really on! Every guest addressed Dennis too. Tom Kenney (voice of SpongeBob Squarepants) was really funny saying that SpongeBob could sing all the Styx songs and they should do a duet. What I thought was the best comment of the night was when they came back from the last break Kimmel said "Man, I bet Styx misses the hell out of you!" I don't think he knows their history! Pam
-
Thanks for letting me know, Terri! Now I'm even more excited! Pam

Hey, my husband and I were just watching the Jimmy Kimmel show and lo and behold he said that Dennis would be on tomorrow night! I don't know if he'll do an interview or not but he'll be sitting in with the band! That's on ABC late night on Friday November 19th! I can't wait!!! Pam

I read here last night that Mac had passed and I just couldn't believe it. This is the first board I have ever belonged to and it took me two years to get up the confidence to post on a semi-regular basis. Earllier this year when I had posted that I was mainly just a reader of the site, Mac wrote me in e-mails and encouraged me to join in. He was so kind to me and all I can say is it is quite a personal loss. My prayers go out to his family and his friends. May God bless and protect them. Pam

Funny! We might be better off if a few of those people left anyway. I may be a Democrat but it's my Country and my President. I just wonder if we'll be going through this suspense period after every Presidential election from now on? Pam
-
Really!! Mac, have you got his number (and can I have it? lol). Pam
-
I heard 3 Styx songs and Desert Moon on the radio today. I know I can listen to them anytime but it sounds so much better to hear them on the radio. I feel the same way, I think it's because I know that other people are listening too and Dennis just might pick-up a few new fans! Pam

Alan said: I spent two nights in a hospital last December. Had I been forced to pay the bill that I was sent, it would have completely broken me. I too am fortunate enough to have insurance but there is no way that most people without insurance can afford the health care they need. I also know that my insurance company has a deal where they only pay a fraction of what the hospital would have charged me. Where's the justice in that? Give the break to the insurance company but ream the little guy without insurance? Of course the insurance companies get the break. They bargain with the hospitals for price breaks in order to include that hospital on their list of approved facilities. I don't really think we need tort reform, we need the regulations placed back on insurance co. so that they are once again not-for-profit, that way all the cherry picking of healthy folks and leaving the ill to deal for themselves wouldn't be going on. Of course it's too late for anything like that to happen. But I can wish! What did you think about the second Presidential debate? I thought Bush came across better than he did in the first although he still floundered a couple of times, notably when he was talking about the environment, something I don't imagine he knows or cares a whole lot about. I love that he said Kennedy was the most liberal senator when he meant Kerry and then never even caught his own mistake. Of course, his error was a lot closer to the truth than what he meant to say (bless Ted Kennedy's heart!) All in all, I think it probably continued to build support for Kerry but I guess we'll see how the polls go in the next few days. Yeah, I would say that Kennedy is way more liberal than Kerry, Sometimes the truth has a way of presenting itself, I think it's called a Freudian Slip, lol! I was surprised that Bush called himself a steward of the land. I thought my husband was going to fall off the couch. That aside, I think it was a pretty even debate. Bush did present himself much better this time. You could really tell that he has had some much needed coaching. At least this time he didn't grimace and look angry over everything that Kerry said. I think that Kerry was still the stronger of the two, but of course I am biased. I am looking forward to the final debate on domestic affairs next week. Pam

Congratulations! It is always hard to move but owning a home is well worth the hassle. Pam

Wow, Ron, don't feel lonely there. Those are some tough questions, I'm not sure I could even answer one! Pam <--- Dennis trivia dud!
