mtlfan
Here we are again with BLT getting his facts distorted: This show was advertised as, and tickets sold for a "LOST TREASURES SHOW". It was announced on CHOM repeatedly as a Lost Treasres Show. Dennis' site advertised it as a Lost Treasures show. There was mention of Special Guest GLEN BURTNIK. Sorry JJ, on Dennis' website it says: "Events June 23, 2007 QUEBEC - CHOM FM SUMMER CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS DENNIS DEYOUNG: THE MUSIC OF STYX WITH SPECIAL GUEST APRIL WINE (click for more info) Date: June 23, 2007 Time: 8:00 pm" CHOM was advertising it as one of their Budweiser Summer Concert Series with April Wine as well. (They've removed the concert ads because it's now over). The only place Glen was mentioned at all was on his own website, as far as I know. blt
Here we are again with BLT getting his facts distorted: Glen is advertised 2 different ways on DDY's website. (1) Sometimes he is simply listed as a member of DDY's "6 piece rock band including singer/songwriter/guitarist and NJ native Glen Burtnik". (2) Other times, he is a special guest - "Singer, songwriter, guitarist and New Jersey native GLEN BURTNIK will join Dennis on tour. Together they will perform songs they wrote from the EDGE OF THE CENTURY album and more." Dennis often refers to Lost Treasures in all his show listings but only some are titled "Lost Treasures" (where Glen seems to get the bigger billing) For the Montreal concert he was listed as part of the 6 piece band and not as a special guest. While Dennis' website did not title it a lost treasures show, it did indicate he would play lost treasures such as Light Up, Castle Walls and Edge of the Century plus new music from his upcoming CD. From what I heard, they played Castle Walls and Edge of the Century. Mtlfan can chime in if he played light-up.
J.J.
Hi Amanda - Take a look at your ticket stub & let me know what it says...... By the way, I heard that April Wine was in good form, belting out one hit after another, with good reception from the crowd. The trademark drum solo was outstanding. markir
I thought that I would weigh in here. First off CHOM promoted the show as follows: "Dennis DeYoung from STYX....This ain't no orchestra show....Saturday night full of Lost Treasures" I know this because I recorded the CHOM DDY special from June 18th complete with commercials and I just listened to it to be sure. Personally I do not think that it made a difference because my feeling is that everyone went there to see DDY and not specifically Glen. Having Glen there was an added treat! As for the ticket stub, I am looking at it right now and it did not advertise it as a Lost Treasures tour but simply "CHOM-FM Summer Concert Series Presents Dennis DeYoung"

My ticket stub is at home, but Markir had his (see previous post). And yes, did April Wine ever ROCK THE HOUSE! I very much enjoyed their show. I'll have to go get their new CD now. I have no idea how Jerry Mercer continues to do those amazing solos at his age. Wow. Jerry's drum kit was larger than Kyle's actually. Jerry works with two kick drums, which means he has a minimum of three pedals to work with (2 x kick drums and 1 high hat) but he's only got two feet!! :-)

Ron
If the show was booked early before a release date for the CD was set--or even finished--the intention was probably to do a Lost Treasures show. With the CD just released, some things needed to change to help promote the new CD.
