blt
Soundscan album sales: Canada: Lost 21 spots to #38 Quebec City: Lost 2 spots to #6 Montreal: Fell out of the top 20 Unless a new single and radio play can spur sales, it looks like it has peaked. Considering the man is 60 and has not been played ont he radio in years, it was a nice little run. Edited July 5, 2007 by blt
ladybugking
Thanks for those blt. I wasn't able to get those album listings where I was looking. I agree. A new single that would have a bit wider appeal in Canada, and that would get actual radio play, like the current single is getting in Montreal, etc., would certainly help sales. I do feel this is quite an accomplishment to see his album alongside the ones of some very current, very popular, (and some very young) artists of today. Still in the Top 50? Not bad. Not bad. mtlfan
I wonder if he'll release an all-english version of the single 100 Years in the rest of Canada? Maybe at the same time he does it in the US, if he does. Speculation here ...

Maybe at the same time he does it in the US, if he does. Speculation here ... Is 100 Years really single material? There are 4 or 5 other songs that are, IMO, probably better single material. It has the bilingual thing going for it in Quebec and hasbecome a hit? I would presume "Save Me" will be released as a single. It can be played a ton of EZ Rock / Light Rock stations. ladybugking
My guess is it will be "Save Me." It sure is one that stays with you. Just hope it will get the airplay that "100 Years" has gotten. Then I can be tracking the chart success of "Save Me" as well? Hope so! blt
As an FYI, the song and/or the album are at the top or near the top of quebec download sites palmares.ca and zik.ca and is doing OK on the puretracks.ca download site.

mtlfan
Album is #42 in Canada and #12 in Quebec City. on the soundscan charts. And TODAY, finally, I get an email from DennisDeYoung.com advertising the release of the CD and this morning, I heard the ad on CHOM for the CD. My first thought was, where the heck have you all been?? Maybe they're pushing the ads to see if they can get the CD to go up the charts again or revving up for a second single?
