ladybugking
Hey! Tell Q104 to check the Mediabase charts for Canada. He is on 3 of them, including rock, and not at the very bottom either! I do agree this song will probably not rocket to the top of the charts, but, again, any airplay for a NEW song from Dennis is quite amazing.

ladybugking
This is cool! Billboard has just launched its Canadian Top 100 singles charts. No. 100 is, ta DAAA!, 100 Years from Now. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/char...0&g=Singles I just checked Mediabase, and the only charts I could find him on under Canada was classified as Adult Contemporary. Am I looking in the wrong place? I was looking at Mediabase Currents charts for Rock, AC and Top 40 in Canada and he is on all three. Not sure where you are looking, Amanda. ladybugking
Good for you, Amanda. It never hurts to let radio stations know what you want to hear. I have no idea about Canadian radio, but I do think it is amazing for Dennis to be getting Top 40 airplay. That simply would not happen in the US unless the record company really, uh, "pushed" it. Even though these stations are all in the area where the English/French would, of course, be popular, I still find it quite nice.
blt
God, you never know with me. Anyway, I found it. I sent an email back to the music director to see what happens. You never know until you try, right? English radio stations in Canada don't play songs with French in them. The station in Halifax will not start playing it. It just does not fly. Perhaps there is a station in New Brunswick or Northern Ontario where it plays but I don't think so. If you look at the billboard chart, there is not 1 french song in the Top 100. The fact that it is number 100 means it is getting lots of airplay in Quebec.

Oh, definately getting plenty of airplay in Quebec. My point in bugging Q104 in Halifax was that they're the ones sponsoring DDY's concert next week. Plus, there's a large contingent of Francophones in Nova Scotia - there's at least one French radio station in Halifax that I know of. Mind you, it's CBC. (Ack!) That being said, if one of the English songs on his CD makes it to the charts, we should hear it everywhere.
blt
FYI, the new releases page at umusic.ca (universal music canada) lists the CD as "pop" and not "rock"
