Can someone explain to this uneducated Canadian what the difference is between Chicago and Chicagoland? Does Chicagoland include all the suburb towns, possibly?

Chicagoland is the surrounding suburbs of Chicago

That was my guess, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification Robin!

I grew up in Chicago and live in the nw burbs now , so I refer to it as Chicagoland !

I was in Chicago This afternoon and I stop on Irving and Harlem across from The Hip , Harlem Irving Plaza shopping mall.......... It's a beautiful day back in the midwest ! I was listening to The Guess Who while I driving into the city ! The greates hits I burned myself ............

Excuse me for babbling in the last post ..................

Not a problem! Now I know where to go to shop if I ever get to Chicago! Funny how you blast the Canadian bands when driving and I blast the American ones. We should meet at the border someday and confuse everyone. :-)

Up until a few months ago I was living in Chicagoland. Born in Chicago, lived there until I got married, then for many years I lived in the northwest suburbs. While much farther south now (opposite end of the state)...I will ALWAYS consider Chicago and Chicagoland my home.

HIP...wow I have not been to the actual mall there for at least 15 years. Woodfield baby!!!! LOL

Well, both of you look out, because I'm going to Chicagoland in July as a birthday gift to myself!!! I'll be visiting a friend and I CAN'T WAIT!!! We're going to have a blast.

If I hear the Guess Who blasting down the street, I'll make sure to look for CG!
