You must have made him think more during this one. I envy you a bit for getting the chance to do it. With all the times I have seen DDY solo and in Styx I always wanted to meet the legend. I thought the questions were really good... And you sounded fine... I really liked Dennis' honesty about why he writes, or what the end product is geared for... its geared for his satisfaction... Ive heard him say the same thing about performing concerts... I believe he has said "It's all about me"... And in the end, dont we all do what we do, whatever it is, for ourselves at some level... Now, I'm not a person who tells people what they want to hear... Its nice if thats possible... but I believe in honesty... Honesty shows much more respect for others... that being said... An interesting thing that came up in the interview was when you asked about the longevity of Roboto... He said that an 11yo today would like it just as 11yo back in the 80's liked it... It was very very interesting to me, because I remeber back when Killroy came out I went to see the concert and it was me and a friend, and the atmosphere was very different than any Styx concert I had attended to that point... having seen my first in 78-79... There were families there with thier young kids... yup... 11 year olds...lol ... In my opinion, Killroy (not just Roboto) I felt as a fan, that Styx moved away from thier core fans to that point, the now early/Mid 20's folks like myself... I liked Roboto, Don't let it end was a nice song... But to be honest, it was my least favorite Styx album... I think the 11yo comment was very telling, it did in my mind mark a departure in style, and a move to a new, younger group of fans. So that answer was a "click" in my memory on how I felt in that era of Styx... His wit was great, as it always seems to be... He must be a real hoot when he doesn't have to worry about being recorded... All in all that was one of the better interviews I have heard with DDY... GREAT Job!!!
