Chicago Guy Posted October 3, 2008 Report Share Posted October 3, 2008 Styx Returns with new material in 2009 10-5-08 Styx is recording new CD for early 2009 to be distributed through Wal-Mart ! JY Young and Tommy Shaw said they are in the early stages of recording. JY said this will be a straight forward rock record with Tommy singing three quarters of the songs while JY will do a couple of tunes. We may have a special guest during the recording of this record along with Chuck playing bass on all tracks. Ricky will be contributing guitar and background vocals and producing duties . This will be our last contractual record with New Door records. Larry has taken a back seat on this one with just writing a good portion of material has well as his fantastic keyboard abilities. The new song features Chuck Panozzo on bass and special guest : David Rosenthal on keyboards as well as producer & songwriter......... J.Y. said we looking for a progressive sounding CD . " David brings that element to the CD " He known for his work with Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen , Whitesnake ! Were want it to to be a killer CD !J.Y, David and myself have written a song called " " Wind And Rain " which will be released through Wal- Mart ......... It's debut will be Oct. 31 !
