teesa_66
OK, here's a link to a great fan review of this weekend's concert at Foxwoods. http://steelkaleidoscopes.typepad.com/stee...s_deyoung_.html Sounds like Dennis was in top form & great spirits! I so can't wait for HOB! Only 13 days now! Terri
Ron
(from the weblog): It was all in good fun, an illustrative point that DeYoung's music is the soundtrack of our lives, from the blurry '70s to the big-hair '80s right through the wired '90s to present tense. I think this is probably one of the best quotes I have seen written about Dennis and the music of Styx. Over the years there have been a lot of people--from critics to those that think it's "not cool" to like Styx, but yet they all know the words to the songs. The soundtrack of our lives, indeed! cperro31
What brought the evening into perspective was a question DeYoung asked the audience before playing "Best of Times." He looked out and asked, "Anybody here in high school between 1979 and 1984?" When the crowd roared, DeYoung deadpanned, "What a shock." Ok, I'll admit I am one of those folks who was in High School between 1979 and 1984. In fact "The Best of Times" was my class song (1984). Any one else out there in high school back then? teesa_66
Best of Times was my prom song...says the 1983 graduate Liz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I TRIED to get Best of Times for our prom, but no such luck. On an interesting side note, I just found out last week that our department head lived near Chicago growing up & used to go see Styx play at the armory across from her school. Finally something we see eye-to-eye on! Terri

How very cool that your department head had that experience. Closest I can come to that is saying that a former employee of mine is married to someone who went to the same high school as Dennis but was 2 years younger than him. Can we say six degrees of Dennis DeYoung? Liz

Liz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I worked with a lady at a hospital who went to school with either Dennis or Suzanne and I believe she was a year or two younger than him Robin
