Boomchild
So I was listening to the local classic rock station today when a commercial came on for the Def Lep tour with "special guests" Reo and Styx. I thought to myself how sad it is that Def Lep now seems to out bill Styx these days. Which is hard for me to believe since I have read some not so good reviews about Def Lep's recent live performances. This is what JY and TS think is better for the inage of Styx? Give me a break. I would be willing to bet that if DDY was stiill in the band they would not be "specual guests". I know that older bands need to tour in groups these days but geez, Styx should be able to headline. Looks like they are slipping and it won't be long till they won't even be "special guests". Well at least there are still bars! Oops. That may not be a good place for TS. One thing that I did notice is that they were playing CSA in the commercial. At least the were using a live track with LG on vocals and not the DDY version. Interesting how they could not stand DDY and his contributions to the band but they seem to pick his songs to still promote the band. Funny how peoples viewpoints change when it comes down to making money.

Scott
Actually I think this is a big break from the norm. No Grand Illusion and Come Sail Away...it would look like they are trying to distance themselves further from the DDY days. A big step for them in my opinion. Also, I don't know what anyone else's opinion is, but I always foung "Sing for the Day" to be softer and schmaltzier (if that's a word) then "Babe" is/was. So it surprises me that this "edgy" rock band would play it. Edited January 15, 2008 by Scott
