We brought easter baskets for the kids and chips and dip and soda . They told us that's what we needed to bring .........

 

When we sat down for dinner it didn't look so appetizing. They said they shopped at Aldi's , I grew up on discount no name brand food and I swore when I got older I would never eat that no name brand food anymore.

 

The dinner was awful .......... Then they brought desert out, a tin full of brown with cocoa like powder on top ? It was awful ............. When we got home we cook us some food because we were still hungry .

 

Don't get me wrong , I'm not ungrateful ....... But I sure missed the days when my whole family got together and grandma and dad were still around ........

 

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter I know what the true meaning is and I'm thankful !

I ran on adrenaline and caffeine from the time I landed in Halifax to the time I landed back in Montreal on the 8th.

 

There was much to do to prepare for the wedding and the wedding itself was beautiful. I can't believe the change in my brother. He's gone from a brat to a grown man and father and now a husband. Wow. And I get the coolest new sister-in-law. I got to be the reader (reading from the Good Book in French, yikes!!), music director and roadie, LOL! Who would have known a music system in a church could be so complicated???

 

Second cool thing (you girls will understand this) is that I got to dance with my daddy to the live version of Desert Moon (with Tommy's solo and everything). My poor father was pooped when the song was over!

 

Oh, and I caught the bouquet. Look out guys! LOL!

 

Unfortunately, my 99 year old paternal grandmother's health had been failing quite quickly at the same time and both my brother and I didn't know whether to hang around or leave, myself back to my work and son and him on his honeymoon with his wife. Our father told us all to go, so off we went. The very next morning at 10:30 a.m., the Good Lord decided to end my grandmother's suffering and took her to be with him. It's okay though, as she's earned her rest and the family understands why we won't be at the funeral. She'd kick our butts for neglecting our own families in any case so the decision to leave was for the best.

 

I'm back at work now, but my head's still whirling. Someone get me off this merry-go-round!! LOL!

I love the first one because Sandra looks like she's just gotten away from her dad and now she's saying, "Okay, let's go!! Let's get married!!" LOL! The second one includes my impossibly adorable nephew. :-)

Jean-Michel made his First Communion last Saturday. We held him back two years from the program because of his PDD to give him time to get to the point where he could understand what he was about to do. (First Communion is typically done at the age of 7 or 8. My son is now 10). He had no problems and we had a great day. For me, it was an important rite of passage as my baby is now well on his way to becoming a young adult. I'm such a sentimental sap!!
