Babe was written as a present to Dennis' wife Suzanne. The song was recorded with just Dennis, and Chuck and John Panozzo. But after everybody heard the song, it was decided that it should also be included on the album. Several attempts at a new recording were made, but they just didn't sound as good as the original. What made it onto the album is the original recording, with Tommy adding the guitar solo.
