The bulk of the website was coded in 2005 and 2006. In the past 13 years there has been significant changes in both website design, and how people view and use content on the web. Plus, with Dennis currently working on a new album, I felt the time was right to get the site updated to current web standards, as well as breathe some life into it.
But why a slow incremental update process? In the past I have tried several times to update the look of the site. While most of the work was cosmetic, I took the typical approach of working on updating everything, then planning on having the new updated site go live all at once. The problem was that I only got part way completed, and then for one reason or another the project was abandoned. This happened on two separate occasions, each with the same result. I am now working on the updates a small portion at a time and having them go live. This will allow the updates to be completed and displayed much faster, and should also help motivate me to complete the entire thing, while still allowing me to do the work at a slower pace that will fit into my already hectic schedule.
So currently the message board is available, and I am working on filling in concert dates. The biggest thing to work on is the discography, so that will be the next thing I'm working on, but it may take awhile. Finally the other content will be added (band member biographies, interviews, etc.) and lastly the color scheme and design updated from the generic one currently in use to something more personalized. The goal is to have everything completed before the new album is released.
